I’m here to worship at the altar of superposition
Where I beg I may find grace for heresy
I walked through a beautiful world with a scowl
Damning everything I could see
just to leave a trace of myself
I confess I feel ashamed
That I neglected to appreciate your design
That it took me so long to find
a sense of Myself,
and within Me, You
I know You are not looking from above
I could love nothing from that angle
I can close my eyes and listen,
Hear You everywhere within and without
And I am released from my doubt
I’m here to cleanse myself of arrogance
and accept the ways in which I broke
are part of a tapestry You weave
I don’t know what I believe
but I’d like it to mean something
I don’t know what it means to pray
but I’d like to wash away my superstitions
be rid of inherited traditions
and find instead the forgiveness
that I owe Myself
