but I am doing it for the exclusive purpose of streak maintenance.
I won’t bother to explain why that’s important to me – the ones who get it get it – but I will yap a little before I pass out.
I am currently on a couch in the apartment of an old friend in Sacramento, getting a teensy bit of rest before we hit the road to Las Vegas in the morning. Don’t ask me what I’m doing in Vegas; I only decided I was going on Tuesday night of this week. I conceptualized and planned for this trip less than 48 hours before taking it. As someone recovering from lifelong control issues and anxiety, this sort of spontaneity feels monumental. After we get to Vegas, we’re going to see A Big Hole (the Grand Canyon); gonna see how much cement that bad boy takes to fill (JOKING. Don’t desecrate national monuments!)
The theme for this trip is: “Stolen childhood, recovered”. Not that there were no good moments in my childhood, but the best of them came as a byproduct of happenstance, rather than as a dedicated event to celebrating the joy of life. I have had a decided lack of “whimsy”; thus, I will overcorrect in all ways. 😉
haiku for today:
feet against the ground
you are free to push the earth
with every movement
